Original art by Claude Monet, from the Public Domain

Note from Tash:

Claude Monet was one of the first artists that lived rent-free in my head as a kid — I remember being in elementary school and becoming obsessed.

First of all, it was the French name, because I have a French last name, and thanks to a couple of DNA tests, I’ve discovered that the biggest chunk of my genetic pie is French)! Oui, oui!! 🥐

Beyond that, the gentleness of Impressionism and calming color palettes make me feel safe, comfortable, and somehow nostalgic. You can really lose yourself in paintings like these, especially if you like to daydream.
